Why does your dog lick you?

Many of us have had our pet dog lick us. Have you ever questioned why? Several studies have pointed out just why man's best friend does this. The main reason, they are affectionate animals and this is how they show that affection. When a dog licks you, there are chemicals released into their system that give them a sense of comfort and give a calming effect. Other theory's include the fact that, you just taste good. Your skin has a salty flavor to them that they enjoy. Much like we use our tongue to taste, dogs do as well. It can also be used much like eyes. A sensory tool that they're using to get more information about you and your mood. So, the next time your dog licks you, it's just the way they find out about you and communicate that they just may want some time with you.
